Completed Cards: 2015-2016

Some of my cards from 2016 – as you can see I was still trying out a bunch of different techniques and figuring out what styles I enjoy the most. The rakhi cards were fun to make – lots of Distress ink blending for the different galaxy backgrounds.

Making wedding cards is really where I developed a love of layering intricate dies. I also really enjoyed trying out different textures & techniques on the same card. For example, on the Mother’s day card I first stamped a pattern using a Prima background stamp and then distressed the different layers with Antique Linen.

I used a lot of Anna Griffin dies back in 2015/2016 since they were carried in the local big box stores. But I’ve found that while I definitely will keep re-purchasing Anna Griffin papers (esp. the Flocked 12×12 papers), when it comes to dies, I prefer Spellbinders. I think Spellbinders is a bit more affordable since there are always sales going on and the different collections fit quite well together.
